The expansion of Tamro’s logistics centre in Tampere has progressed as planned. The first new automation solutions were introduced during the summer, with further solutions to be brought into operation during the autumn. The investment will increase capacity and strengthen Tamro’s ability to serve its customers reliably as demand grows.

The exterior of the logistics centre extension was completed at the end of last year. Since then, work has continued inside the building, with a focus on installing and commissioning the new automation solutions. All work related to the expansion is scheduled to be completed by the first months of 2027.

The expansion will increase the logistics centre’s capacity, particularly for products requiring cold storage, while automation will play a greater role in several stages of the logistics process. New automation is being introduced in areas including the return logistics of Tamro’s green delivery boxes, cold-chain processes and dispatch operations.

With this investment, we are strengthening our ability to meet the growing and changing requirements of pharmaceutical sector well into the future. We are increasing capacity and automation while improving the efficiency and reliability of our operations. This will enable us to continue serving both our existing and future customers reliably as demand and the operating environment evolve, says Aki Koskinen, Logistics Director at Tamro.

Tamro’s Tampere logistics centre plays a key role in the distribution of pharmaceuticals and health products in Finland. The expansion will help ensure that pharmaceuticals and other health products continue to reach where they are needed smoothly and reliably.
