Young people’s mental health has become one of society’s most pressing concerns in recent years. Everyday pressures and expectations have increased, and more and more young people are struggling with anxiety, loneliness and exhaustion. It is vital to ensure that help and support are available when they are needed most.
Tamro is contributing €10,000 to MIELI Mental Health Finland’s Christmas Appeal. This donation will enable MIELI to continue its invaluable work in promoting mental wellbeing among young people. The organisation trains adults who meet young people in their daily lives – in schools, hobbies and homes – equipping them with the skills to offer support. In addition, MIELI provides confidential chat support through its Sekasin chat service every day of the year. Many young people say that without this lifeline and the chance to talk to a professional, they would have faced their distress alone.
To do this work, resources are essential. That’s why it is so valuable when companies support youth mental health through their Christmas donations, says Satu Raappana, Director of Child and Youth Mental Health at MIELI.
Tamro has chosen MIELI ry as a long-term partner and charitable cause.
As part of our commitment to responsibility, we want to support MIELI ry’s important work for the mental well-being of children and youth, ensuring that every young person has access to help when they need it. Timely support can prevent more serious problems and help build a safer, more hopeful future for youth, says Kai Kaasalainen, CEO of Tamro.
