Tamro's 9-member returns team is responsible for handling and crediting products returned by customers. Reasons for returns can include damaged product packaging during transit, order errors, or the customer receiving the wrong product. The team's task is to check the order details, the condition of the returned product, and the FMD status (Falsified Medicines Directive), which includes the unique identifier and authenticity of the medicinal product in the verification system. Based on the inspection, it is decided whether the product can be returned to the warehouse for sale or removed from inventory.

During the inspection, the package is literally handled. Only products that are in perfect condition and that one would buy themselves are shelved, say Outi Kautto and Hanna Tsokkinen from the returns team.

A large part of the team's work is also investigating product defect suspicions. The team inspects and photographs samples, contacts pharmaceutical companies, and sends samples to the pharmaceutical factory for examination. In Finland, the handling of product defects is strictly regulated, and each suspicion is handled carefully.

The work is challenging, responsible, and independent. We all are very meticulous individuals, and there is a good team spirit in our group. No one here thinks that something is not their job, but we always help each other. This way, things run smoothly, and tasks get completed.

Kautto and Tsokkinen describe the 130-year-old Tamro as an oak tree. It is long-lived, firmly rooted, grows new shoots, and adapts to changing conditions.

The same description fits well with the returns team, where many members have had over 20-year careers at Tamro, some nearly 30 years, and where workdays and tasks are diverse and varied.

Tamro is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year. Throughout the year, we will share stories from Tamro’s rich history and introduce the dedicated teams who work with determination, expertise, and heart.
